Even the Little Black Ant

Sometimes you may think

Your life it matters not.

That everything you do and say,

Are all easily forgot.

Perhaps you’re tempted to believe

That we are not connected.

That by your life, all the people on the globe,

Are simply unaffected.

But if we could see the reality

That we are one big whole,

This school of life includes you and me

We are all enrolled.

The smallest word or deed

It all matters, do you know?

For even the little black ant                        Casts a steady shadow.

A raindrop may be tiny

As it falls unseen below,

But just one tiny drop of rain

Can produce a rainbow.

The smile you gave to a broken heart

Will heal that unseen wound

The laughter that you shared

Will keep the soul’s music in tune.

When you take time to notice

You will see,

Everything you do has an impact,

Not only on you, but on me.

Your life is in no way disjointed

Seperate from the rest of us here,

We are all one family on Earth,

And to the heart of Heaven – endeared.

The smallest word or deed

It all matters, do you know?

For even the little black ant

Casts a steady shadow.

A raindrop may be tiny

As it falls unseen below

But just one tiny drop of rain

Can produce a rainbow.

Your life matters.
